Thus my house features this very wonderful (and very big) Vermont Castings timber kitchen stove within the living room that I’m not using any longer. Used to do latest winter season to augment the heating system petroleum, but insurance is a killer about thing since I’m outside of the “protected areas” (aka no fire hydrants) and I’m no lumberjack, plus dragging in the wood in addition brings in lots of higher dust, insects, etc. I am getting a unique, more effective heater within this season thus I’m in addition attempting to take-out the woodburner.
Concern is, I don’t know how to handle the 8 inches stove-pipe starting the wall.
What is the best and most convenient way to close it off and correct the wall structure? The previous proprietor discovered there were a minor chimney fire that damaged the initial clay lining, so this lady insurance policies paid for they fixed with a stainless liner.
